Book Review - Masters of Scale by Reid Hoffman with June Cohen and Deron Triff
👍Recommended read for real life examples about challenges faced and solutions implemented by leaders of different companies.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Read below for my five takeaways from this book.
💫 Do things that don’t scale - The first step to scale is to renounce your desire to scale. You’ll find yourself doing things that seem insignificant and labor intensive. Yet these could be the very things that determine how far your company will do in years ahead. 🛣️
💫 Cultural cofounders - The first people you hire are not just your employees but your cultural cofounders. They set the tone and imprint behaviours and values. 🔁
💫 Being strategically patient - If you are going to go the distance, you have to recognize that the conditions around you are always changing.⚖️
💫 Watch what they do, not what they say - If you want to truly learn from your customers, sometimes it’s valuable to ignore what they say and just watch what they do. Watch them hijack your product and let them use it in ways you hadn’t intended. 👀
💫 Leadership at scale, and leadership as you scale -You are constantly adapting and evolving. You can’t follow a single style or approach. You’ll always be leading through transition as your company is always changing around you.👑
